It’s hard to find an honest mechanic in a new city but I’ve been nothing but pleased with the crew here. Friendly, take the time to go over problems and options and respectful of my time. They also offer loaner cars and pickup/drop off service. Very happy with this place and highly recommend.

My first time bringing my car, referred by Wells Automotive in Gurnee. Loaner was a nice ride and I was thinking $300 or so and a few hours later I’d have my relic back and be on my way. The patient didn’t die on the operating table but its owner’s heart almost seized up when the doctor called me at work with the diagnostic report. Bottom line: The ‘94 BMW reached the point of no more good-money-after-bad. So Gages Lake didn’t make a dime off me yet, but they have earned my gratitude and respect. I will contact them for work on my ‘95 Chevy S-10 now that I have to default to it as my sole go-to ride.
